Sequel Advisory

Serious thinking, seriously connected.

Sequel is about connectors, not consultants. We've spent decades as lawyers advising on deals. We know how deals work. We've seen what can derail a transaction. We know the people who make them happen. We see the big picture, not just the legal side. More often than not, it isn't a lack of ambition. It's the wrong people involved. Or the right people, brought in too late. That's why we built Sequel.

What we do

Buy or sell a business

We prepare the business, find the right buyer or seller, and stay in the detail through negotiation to completion.

Find opportunities and funding

We introduce you to the investors, private equity, family offices and funding partners who can actually do the deal.

Support with all or part of the deal

We bring in the senior bankers, wealth managers, CFOs and legal specialists your deal needs. We can run the whole process, or just part of it. Your choice. Either way, one of us stays on it, start to finish.

Why Sequel

Every deal is different

Whatever the deal calls for, we assemble the right people around you. Tax and legal advice comes through our relationship with Quastels LLP, or other trusted legal advisers with the right sector skills. Other professionals on the team are from a carefully selected number of specialists we trust with our own name.

You won't be handed off to a junior team. Every deal is led personally by one of us, start to finish.

The Team

Marcus Rebuck

Marcus Rebuck

Marcus is a corporate and commercial lawyer with over 40 years’ experience. He specialises in M&A and complex commercial contracts. As a fluent French speaker and natural linguist, Marcus has a strong international client base in high-end fashion, beauty and luxury goods, new technologies and sustainability. Clients value his hands-on style: he gets into the real detail of a transaction, framing advice in business terms.

David Quastel

David Quastel

David has been a commercial and property lawyer for over 30 years. An entrepreneur at heart, he specialises in real estate development finance and complex property joint ventures. He is managing partner of a successful law practice with a portfolio of external investments. He also advises — often confidentially — on strategy behind major UK and international disputes. Clients bring him in early on complex deals for his hands on strategic thinking, valuing his practical, commercial approach for those “impossible” situations.

Jonathan Gross

Jonathan Gross

Jonathan is a seasoned lawyer who advises some of the UK's largest family offices, private companies and entrepreneurs on real estate transactions. Much of his practice is inward investment into the UK from Continental Europe and the Middle East and, more recently, the legal side of digital assets. Clients value him for tactical, strategic advice: putting deals together, and getting them done.
